Chase Freedom 5% Cash Back on Gas and Travel

PASS card from American Express $25 Bonus

American Express is running the Pass card $25 bonus promo whereas 1) you get the PASS now 2) charge it with $25 to the card 3) then reload another $25 for a $25 bonus 4) finally, you must use $75 before Oct 1st.  Monthly fee of $3.95 apply unless you cancel the card before Oct. 1st

Here are some of the small fine prints:

  • PASS is a prepaid card
  • Initial minimum charge is $25
  • Each reload minimum is $25
  • Monthly fee $3.95 is waived until Oct 1, 2010
  • ATM fee is $1.50
  • $25 bonus will take 2-4 weeks and PASS must be active
  • Reload must be before Aug 15, 2010

Some tips and tricks:

  1. You can order up to three cards for three bonuses(1 for you, and two others for your family members)
  2. There are  no hard pull on your credit report.
  3. You can fund with an American Express Credit Card.

Saving 30% off Everything at Home Depot

Microsoft will end the Bing’s Cash Back program by July 30th. You will need to act on this fast if you want the 30% cash back on Everything at Home Depot. You will need a bing.com account and Mr. Rebates account.

1) Sign up through this $5 bonus Mr. Rebates link.

2) Go to www.bing.com and sign up for an account.

3) Sign up for Ebay Bucks Rewards for another 2%.

  9. Proceed to checkout and pay with Paypal
  10. Possible final cash back is Bing 8%, Mr. Rebates 3%, Ebay Bucks 2%, and Schwab CC 2% = 15% Cash Back

*You want to buy Home Depot gift cards from good sellers only. There are a lot of them, pick the ones with 100% feedback.
*Try to buy the gift card at face value or below. Say for example $500 for $490, then you will get 15% back from the $490 making it almost 20% cash back from buying gift cards.
*Keep buying as much gift cards as you can until you reach the amount you needed.

Once you have all the gift cards u need, you will need to visit your local USPS office. There will be a booklet known as the Mover’s Guide. I’m not sure how many you can grab. If they leave out front, grab as many as you can. Inside each of those booklet, there is a 10% coupon for Home Depot or Lowe’s. It doesn’t matter if it’s Lowe’s since Home Depot will gladly take those coupons.

Get Ready to Buy:

You will now need to know the items you want for sure first. Do so by visiting the stores first to see in person, but don’t buy from the brick and mortar store. Once you know the items, you could get the same thing online. Shopping online with give you further cash back.

  1. Go into your Mr. Rebates account and search for Home Depot.
  2. You will see the Home Depot link and more coupon codes. You will get the guarantee 5% cash back from Everything you shop + additional promotional discount on whatever they are having.
  3. Lets say you are buying $10K worth of Shutters. Go through the link, and at Home Depot, search for Shutters. You will get $500 back to your Mr. Rebates account.
  4. At the payment page, choose pay at the stores if possible. Otherwise you can just pay online. Either at the store or online, now you can use your gift cards at the checkout page. Remember, these gift cards you are buying at around 80 cents on a dollar. Hence a further 20% off.
  5. If you are paying at the stores, now is the time to whip out your 10% mover’s guide coupon. They will now give you a further 10% off on your total purchase. If you bought it online, then you can visit the store along with the receipt. Bring the receipt to the front customer desk and tell them to apply the 10% coupon since you “forgot” to apply it on there.

*You might even want to talk to the Manager since you are buying so much from them and see if he can do anything. Maybe more discounts. It doesn’t hurt to ask.
If you follow all the above steps, you should get it 30% off or more from everything.
