Hustler, have you ever actually done this? I ask only b/c the last time I tried this, the CC ppl told me that they couldn’t apply the coupon since it was paid for online, and coupon is in-store only.
I have done similar deals like this, and it works fine. You don’t pay online. Choose in-store pickup, and you will pay at the pick-up counter. If not, just go to the store, and look up the item and go through the regular cashier. Make sure your total is over $200 in order to use the coupon. You would have a better chance of getting the deal if you print the coupon in good color paper. Most cashiers will scan for you, and it does work. If they refuse, tell them to scan it anyway or come back to a different cashier.
I enjoyed reading this “idea” but I think this is just a wishful thinking or a good deal on paper.
This must be your first time on my site.
Dude,
your blog is sure “entertaining” but actually you are like one of those stock advisers, who will let you know the perfect “risk hedged” (in paper), super computer generated, 100% guaranteed stock trade that they will never buy.
kickass, have you ever TRIED anything here? Because you sound quite in the know — as though you have, and it didn’t work.
I’ve tried quite a few things from here… most recently the CA Internet Security Flash Drives deal, and have made over $150 doing so. So please, get your facts straight before you open your mouth.
Richard, have you already got your CA rebates? I sent mine in during Septemeber for the Anti-Virus, and I haven’t seen my checks yet. I didn’t try the Internet Security one since I wanted to see how the AV one played out first.
kickass, I have tried a lot of Hustler’s ideas, and most of them work just fine. I admit he’s out there on some of these coupon deals (it seems ethically questionable to try using computer printed coupons that read “no reproductions accepted” or stacking coupons that read “not valid with any other offer”), but his bank and credit card deals work great. Besides, he’s typically up front about YMMV situations.
Kickass,
Your last comment made me laugh. It’s obvious that you are now a daily reader if you are still reading this post. Welcome aboard.
My readers can you tell you how much they made and saved from this site…I don’t need to defend myself. Later playa.
Tim,
No, I haven’t seen my checks yet, however, I’ve been following the online status of each and every one of them like a hawk.
The ppl at CA are a bunch of tricksters… almost to the point of fraudulent I’d say. For about THREE of my 5/6 rebates I submitted, the status initially said INVALID because x y z wasn’t submitted. Except I DID submit each and everyone of those things each time.
Thankfully, it’s a simple matter of calling them up and saying hey, I sent it, and then they’ll update it to VALID… but just to think of all those ppl who don’t follow up on it… it’s a little maddening.
So again Tim, NO, I haven’t received the checks as yet, but everyone of the statuses says it’s “valid and scheduled for final processing” and the CSRs have assured me that my checks will be mailed.
I’ve had the same problem w/ CA. Just checked my status’ and 3/5 were invalid for some BS made up issue. I did my follow up via the mail so hopefully it works out.
Slick,
I advise you phone them about it… I trust them with email just as far as I can throw them. At least I know they pick up the phone, and they change your sh*t right away.
Richard – When I call can I mention all three at the same time or will I have a problem w/ them telling me I am not entitled to one because of the other. I actually mailed the follow up which makes me just as worried as you are w/ e-mail.
Slick, I called in mine separately, but only b/c the statuses of mine updated at different time. Either way, I would call each separately… wouldn’t want to risk getting 1 or more invalidated b/c of them saying just that (that one is invalid b/c of the other).
