Chase $50 College/High School Checking

January 6, 2010 · Filed Under Bank deals & offers

Want to teach your kids “hustling ain’t easy”? haha..sometimes I wish I have kids so I can do this with them. For those with teens 13-17 years old, you can get them a $50 bonus with a Chase high school checking account after 5 debit purchases. Make sure to make a $25 opening deposit. However, the parent must be a joint owner in order to open an account for them. I suggest you get a $125 bonus first.

If you are a college student, you can also get a $50 bonus by yourself after 5 debit purchases. The best thing about this high school/college checking account is that there are no monthly fees whatsoever. Offer expires 2/27/10 and you must keep it open for 6 months. With Chase bonuses, you can only qualify for 1 bonus per calendar year.

From the website:

Bonus/Account Information – Offer Expires: 2/27/10. Present this letter to a banker when opening a Chase College Checking account. A minimum opening deposit of $25 is required (money not currently held by Chase or its affiliates). Also, within 60 days of account opening, you must make five qualifying purchases (PIN or signature) with your Chase debit card to qualify for the bonus. The $50 bonus will be automatically deposited into your account within 10 days of the final qualifying purchase. ATM transactions are not considered a purchase and will not count toward the five purchases. Offer not available on account conversions or in combination with any other offer. Limit one consumer checking account-related reward/premium per customer, per calendar year. Checking account must remain open for six months or the bonus will be debited from the account at closing. Account is subject to approval. Cash bonus may be considered interest reportable on IRS Form 1099-INT.

Hustler’s Saving Money Tip of the Day:

One of the things I learn with car insurance is that you can always cancel your policy at any time. There is no early termination fee and you get your money back pro-rated if you pay it full in advance. Since rates are always changing, you can be sure to find a lower price from all the competitors.

It took me less than 5 minutes to find a lower rate by going through online with Netquote. After filling out online, the offers begin to pour in from at least 10 insurance companies. The major companies include Farmers, Allstate, Progressive, Nationwide, and many more. I put in the year and model of my car, along with the type of coverage I would like, and they will email you the best rates. I didn’t put my real phone number because I didn’t want to be bothered with them calling.
