I signed up for the Chase Freedom VISA card with a $100 cash back after the first purchase (no minimum required). After I made the requisite purchase and received no cash back credit after several months, I called Chase and found out they had done a “bait and switch” and I was now signed up for the 15,000 bonus points ($150) which is credited after $950 is spent in the first 93 days (which I didn’t meet). As a consolation they credited my account with 5,000 points ($50), but would not admit they switched the plan I signed up for. I guess if I was nearing the $950 requirement I didn’t know about they could have changed my plan to $10,000 cash back plan if I charged $1M dollars in the first 93 days.
