If you have good credit can you apply for more than one card where you and your wife could make a 1000.00? Also by opening up 4 accounts between the two and closing before the fee how much will that hurt my credit?

I just got the regular sapphire card. Is it possible to get the $100, and then ask for an upgrade to the preferred and get an additional $250…. and then close that later?
TIA

I am strongly thinking of getting the Sapphire Preferred credit card that that has a $250 bonus if I spend $3,000 within the first 3 months.

I think I can get close but I need some additional purchases. Do any of these items count as purchases?

Utility bills – phone, cable TV, water, sewer, etc.?

Buy coins from US Mint?

Invest in a CD over the Internet – deposit with a Mastercard or Visa?

Buy gift certificates? Any widely used gift certificates – AMEX cards, GREEN DOT, etc.?

Any other ideas?

Any assistance is much appreciated!

Thank you!

Yes..as long as you spend $3000 within your first 3 months, you will get the bonus.

All the above you mentioned will count as a purchase.
