The Citi® Hilton HHonors™ Reserve Card is offering two free weekend night certificates after you make $2,500 in purchases within the first four months of cardmembership.
Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve Card Review
Citi® Hilton HHonors™ Reserve Card has all the rewards, perks, travel technology and guaranteed luxury with a hard-hitting signup bonus of 2 weekend night certificates good at select hotels and resorts within the Hilton HHonors portfolio with a bonus weekend night every year. This is worth up to $500 per night if you redeem for a Tier 7 hotel which is more than enough to offset the $95 annual fee. You’ll earn 10 HHonors Bonus Points per $1 spent on hotel stays within the Hilton HHonors portfolio, 5 HHonors Bonus Points per $1 spent on airline and car rental purchases, and 3 HHonors Bonus Points per $1 spent on all other eligible purchases.
With the Citi Hilton Reserve, you get 2 free weekend nights valid at most Hilton hotels, free Hilton gold elite status (free internet and breakfast) which can save at least $30 a day, and no foreign transaction fees.

2 Free Weekend Nights
Start off with 2 free weekend night certificates at any Hilton hotel after spending $2,500 within 4 months. Use the certificates on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday which are valid for 12 months from when they are issued. This includes all category 1 to 7 Hilton hotels and Waldorf Astoria hotels which cost 7,500 to 80,000 points a night. Here are some fancy hotels that easily go up to $500 per night after taxes:
- Grand Wailea Maui (Waldorf Astoria)
- Waldorf Astoria Rome Cavalieri
- Conrad Maldives
- Conrad New York
- Conrad Tokyo
- Hilton Bora Bora Nui
Free Gold Elite Status
As a Citi® Hilton HHonors™ Reserve Cardholder, you get free Hilton Gold elite status for as long as you have the card. Hilton Gold elite status gives you free internet and free breakfast, along with 25% extra points for paid stays, and a chance at room upgrades. You also get a 15%, 20% & 25% discount when redeeming for a 4, 5 or 6 or longer night award as a Gold member. The free internet and breakfast each cost at least $10 per day at the hotel($30 per day at more in expensive cities). This is easily worth the $95 annual fee for regular travelers where Hilton is your hotel chain of choice.
For future years, you get a free weekend night after you spend $10,000 in a year which you can weigh against the $95 annual fee. Remember, the free weekend night is not valid at all-inclusive or Hilton Grand hotels.
10 Points at Hilton Hotels, 5 Points for Airline and Car Rental and 3 Point per $1 for Everything Else
The 10 points per $1 spent at Hilton hotels is better than any other Hilton card especially for booking Hilton hotels outside the US since it doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees. I value HHonors points at about 0.5 cents apiece, so your effective rewards rate is 5%, 2.5% and 1.5% for the above categories.
If you want no annual fee with up to 40,000 bonus points, check out the Citi Hilton HHonors Visa Signature.
Final Verdict: With the two free weekend nights and complimentary Gold status, the Citi® Hilton HHonors™ Reserve Card provides some nice perks. Just by spending $2,500 within four months, you can enjoy two nights for free in a room that is worth around four or five hundred dollars a night. It also uses EMV chip-and-signature compatibility, making the card easier to use abroad. Plus, your savings will be even more enjoyable with the complimentary breakfast and internet you receive through the Gold status. These savings and benefits are well worth the $95 annual fee in my opinion. If you are looking for a card that is internationally accepted and provides great travel rewards, sign up for the Citi® Hilton HHonors™ Reserve Card.
