Ever since the EVO came out, Sprint is a total new company with the “freebies”. Currently, there are very little “freebies” you can get from “Retention” aka Account Services. As always, be courteous and stand your ground. However, here’s the" />

I found to get $50 credit is to online order process but before finally submitting it cancel the order. It comes back with an offer if you do not cancel.

I got the $2.50 for Unlimited Data Pack a few days ago BEFORE reading this. An in store sprint rep screwed up my brothers line on our family shared plan. My brother’s line had power vision data services for free and the store rep sold him a phone that was not power vision compatible. The rep failed to mentioned this to my brother or the rep just did not know. The free data pack was removed from his line in order to make the non power vision phone work without my brother being told this. I was pissed and threatened to cancel since my brother specifically asked the rep and the rep reassured him that the plan would stay the same and that he would get all the same services would continue. I called to cancellation line or retention line as mentioned above and explained the situation and was offered to put data back on his line for $2.50/month instead of free. I was still a bit annnoyed that they claimed that they could not just put it back the way it was before but I was okay with it. I got a followup call about the issue later on and then reexplained and was given a $30 service credit to cover the $2.50/month charge for 1 year, which is also the remainder of my brother’s line.

I hope you realize Sprint is BANNING people from Sprint for using corporate discounts they are not entitled to. They have started a system wide audit and are requiring those accounts in question to verify employment by faxing them a current pay stub (and they give you 3 days to do it). If you cannot provide it, they will cancel your account and ban you for life from ever signing up with Sprint again.

Yes Marcia, I know that. Whether you take up on the offer is up to you. The audit is random, so hey whatever. If they cancel, then you just got a free phone with no ETF fee. Sign up again with one of your family members.

20/24=Nope
3/24= Nu-uh
70.00 credit per line, nope
1.00 and 7.50 text plans are GONE too…
this is all outdated information.
Just try being a good customer, pay your bills on time, you will get more. The rebate thing…they do random account audits and you will be caught.
Everything else is now out-dated. The babies who call in for everything are the ones most likely to have their account audited. the good customers who rarely call in are usually left alone.

I called retention tonight and I can comfirm that they are offering practically nothing. No credits off monthly bill whatsoever. No additional discounts toward a new phone. After speaking to manager, the only thing I was offered was a $70 credit. Very disappointing since I’ve been with Sprint for like 7 years now, only upgrading plans/phone twice, so it’s not like I’m hitting them up for free stuff all the time. I still rock a Razor phone! My brother just renewed with Verizon and he got 2 Droids for 50 bucks…maybe time to look elsewhere.

Robert,

That’s what I’m saying. It’s very difficult to get
Sprint “freebies.” Even the above ones listed above are very difficult. You got the $70 credit is even tough.

If you want monthly % off your bill, try the 25% method I wrote about a few posts down.

If I use the cusaver do I have to buy the phone and plan there? Or can I buy a phone/plan at a retailer and get the cu discount after?

Reply

Hu$tler June 24, 2010 at 12:55 am

buy the phone/plan wherever, then do the CU discount afterward.

If I use the Sprint SERP Plan by the email and employee id # you provided, would I be subjected into proving that i was really referred by the employee later on?…In other words is this illegal?

Hu$tler June 24, 2010 at 4:35 pm

Haile,

All I know is thousands and hundred of thousands of people have use that email/employee #. I would have guess Sprint purposely release it out. Many forums and sites have put it out there. If Sprint want to close that loophole, they would have done it a few years ago.

Just found this blog … thank you! I’m always SlickDealing, so I just had to call in and try for the $70 credit today (just renewed my service when the EVO came out). The rep told me should couldn’t find that credit as being available for my account, but asked me to hold on because she thought I might be eligible for a different credit. After a few seconds, she said, “Here it is. Looks like you’re eligible for a MSC credit of $129.99 if you would like.”

If I would like? Heck yeah, lady! Put me down for one pronto! :D She explained it was basically just their “1 Month Free Service” promo credit. I’m not 100% positive she said “MSC” credit the first time or not, but that would make sense if it stood for “Monthly Service Credit,” perhaps.

My actual credit only ended up being $97.49 since I’m getting the Cox 25% employee credit already, and the promo is for one free month of whatever you actually pay. But still! Very nice of her to look and offer that for me. So let’s see … I paid $170 no tax and free shipping for my EVO with Wirefly, got $50 Bing cashback, and just got a $97.49 service credit for a service I was using anyway. Grand out-of-pocket total for upgrading my Sprint Mogul to an EVO? $22.51.

I love slickdealin’. =D Thanks for the tip, HMB!

In regards to sending in the rebate form after buying from a retailer who gives an instant discount – do you still include your original receipt/packing slip? Or do you just leave that part out? I can’t imagine they’d honor my rebate if I sent in a receipt for $170 on an EVO from Wirefly.

It’s pretty difficult although not entirely impossible. Kinda like a hit or miss type with certain CSR. I hear you really have to follow through the threat of canceling your lines. YMMV.

For all the winning babies trying to get something for nothing-go to Verizon or ATT so you can pay more and have caps on data. Yeah you may get a Droid for 50bucks, but over the course of two years you may as well have bought the phone outright. To people complaining about an additional 70bucks you were offered off a phone-go whine to Verizon and let’s see what you get. Realize that the minute you call, the rep has already seen your history of courtesy credits and how often you call.

Sprint made me mad with the premier plans. They denied me my upgrade and everything. I switched to verizon that day. In the mean time, i was debating cancellation fees. when i signed my contract, i was told i would get an upgrade every year. That changed of corse. 35 interactions within 1 week. i got a call from sprint one morning asking how we can resolve this. well i got an htc thunderbolt so i was really happy. i told them its almost impossible to make me want to switch back. this is what they offered me…
my upgrade (evo)
cancellation fees waived
a free Samsung galaxy tab
and free data on that line for 2 years.
my total value of that phone call came up to $2500. the nice thing is it was within 2 weeks of me signing with verizon soo i got my full refund. but honestly i will be back to verizon after my two years is up.

my upgrade (evo)
cancellation fees waived –always waived if you come back in 45 days
a free Samsung galaxy tab – if we find out who did it they will be fired -
and free data on that line for 2 years.- data is included in the plans already. unlike verizon where you have to pay 29.99 to add.

i work in acct services, there are almost no offers available at the moment, if you plan to renew call us before and let us know u want to cancel, we can offer you 1 free month of service or if you have a data 1500 plan we can adjust in the next bill 100dls off, the 6th line cant be added by anyone, even though someone could do this we get reported because of this.
