LOL! Don't try this with Qwest!

What I got for my trouble was a good four hours of run-around, during which I was told...

I needed a new DSL modem; it would be free.
I didn't need a new DSL modem.
I needed a new DSL modem; it would cost $100.
The services that were represented to me as "bundled" were not bundled and never had been.
The salesman could save me about $10 a month if he "bundled" the non-bundled services I had been paying the full freight for over the previous year.
The new monthly bill would be $77, down from $87. BTW, I would be paying $100 for the DSL modem to take advantage of the new, faster speed I was getting, plus $8 for a serviceman to install it correctly.
I did not need a faster DSL modem; the serviceman would cancel the service call.
But my burglar alarm system was interfering with the existing DSL system; the serviceman would disconnect the burglar alarms.
The new monthly bill will be $107, up from $87.
The new monthly bill will be $87, same as I was paying before.
And this month's Qworst bill just arrived: $155.46.

Bastards. This runaround has wasted an unholy amount of my time and left me with a bill that will run me into the red this month.

Don't deal with Qwest unless you have absolutely no other choice.

I do this and it works for me. I also use GetHuman: http://is.gd/2Ink It is an online directory of alternative customer support numbers for many companies that get you directly to a human, so you don't have to jump through the hoops of menu options.
