Top 5 Banks with High Interest Rate

If you are like me, and want to get the highest possible interest rate on your money in a savngs account, check out my list of top 5 banks.

  1. Everbank YieldPledge MM – 4.65% APY 3-Month promo rate, then down to 3.82% APY afterwards. Great bank with top notch customer services. Checking account has high interest rate too. The rate is good for up to $50K. $1500 balance requirement for each month.
  2. Dollar Savings Direct – 4.00% APY with only $1K deposit requirement.
  3. CNB Bank Direct – 4.00% APY rate guaranteed for at least 6 months. Only $1 to open.
  4. Capital One Cotco Savings – 3.75% APY with $60 bonus for Executive member. Great for local bank, however must have $10K Deposit. If you are not a Costco member, there is a 3.55% APY with $50 bonus for $25K deposit.
  5. Citibank Ultimate Savings – 3.5% APY with $25 bonus. Not the best rate, but high especially if you want a local brich and mortar bank. Similar local bank is Wachovia 3.50% APY.

Best Balance Transfer Cards:

The following cards have no annual fee, balance transfer fee is capped, and balance transfer period is at least 12 months.

  1. Advanta BusinessCard with Rewards – 15 months BT period (3% fee, $90 max)
  2. Advanta Customized Business Rewards – 15 months BT period (3% fee, $90 max)
  3. Advanta Kiva BusinessCard – 15 months BT period (3% fee, $90 max)
  4. Discover More – 12 months BT period (3% fee, $75 max)
  5. Discover Miles – 12 months BT period (3% fee, $75 max)
  6. Discover Open Road – 12 months BT period (3% fee, $75 max)

The first three cards are business cards. Whether you have a home-based business or that you have sold something on Ebay, you can apply for a business credit card. Just put your name as the business name and your social security number as the tax id. Your business is called sole proprietorship and it’s perfectly legal with the IRS.
