I just got back from Best Buy ago to get the Mario Galaxy game. Earlier in the week, Toy R US did a special whereas if you buy the game, you can get a $25 gift card. Best Buy decided to price match that deal by having the same promo. Here’s what you do:
- Go Visit your local Best Buy store and grab Super Mario Galaxy.
- Now get the cashier to scan the game first and then get the cashier to enter promo SKU 6867688
- Cashier will see a window to give you $25 gift card.
Now I didn’t succeed at the first Best Buy attempt, cuz some nosy cashier told my cashier about how “this is an employee special only” …bunch of BS. Anyways, I didn’t want to argue so I went down to another Best Buy 20 minutes away and got the last one. It works like a charm. I’m told this deal is good until Saturday.
If you wait until this Sunday on 11/18, Toy R US is having another Wii special whereas if you buy 2 games, you can get another game free. There’s also a $10 free gift promo too. The coupon is in your Toy R Us Sunday Ad. Check out the Ad here.
For those looking for a cheap deal on a PS3 console, many people have confirmed to get the PS3 for less than $300 at K-Mart. Some K-Mart is having a special whereas you can buy a $50 gift card, and you will get a free $10 special. You can go buy $300 worth of gift cards and $60 free in gift cards. Now print out this 20% off coupon from K-Mart and see if they have a 40GB PS 3 console. Retail is $399 – 20% off – free gift cards = Less than $300. Above is YMMV since some K-Mart won’t accept the coupon on electronics.
If you want 10% off on video games, ipods, etc…you can try online coupon code BABYSALE at Target.com
Of course, shopping at Target, Best Buy, or any Brick and Mortar store will be taxed. Why not shop at Amazon instead and use the Citi mtvU Card to get 5% back in Thank You points. Yes, since ordering from Amazon with the mtvU card, Citi doesn’t know if you are buying a book or a video game..hence they will give 5% back in Thank You points.
40GB PS 3 on Amazon for $399 with free shipping and no tax.
80GB PS 3 on Amazon for $499 with free shipping and no tax.
Clever Dude,
I would call 1-888-BEST-BUY and ask for Customer Relations. Tell them the store you are at and that they refused the promotion. This is nationwide and all BEST Buy stores must honor this.
I tried to use the code, but the assistant manager was adamant that it was invalid. I asked if the computer would say it was invalid and he said the manager said not to accept it. I said why, and he said it’s invalid, and round and round we went.
So I just bought the game without the code. It’s the first game we bought since we got the Wii 3 months ago.
Sounds like a good tip! I’ve always loved the toys r us buy two get one deal.
