For those with Vonage services, you can call (1-866-243-4357) and talk to Account Management Department to get the $14.99 Unlimited Special instead of the current $24.99 for those thinking of canceling their current plan. They might try to tell you that they can give you for a year, but threaten to cancel if they don’t give you the plan forever. They will know that is the current retention offer for those willing to cancel Vonage. There is no need to reference anyone phone or account number to get the retention special.

The Unlimited Plan is called Rate Plan: $14.99 Unlimited Residential Plan-RT0807

Make sure to tell them that this is for life, and that your friends are also getting the two months free included.

I just called and they said that the $14.99 plan is not offered at this time but it may be offered again in early next year.

I got the 19.99 plan plus the first 2 months are free. This is for life

I just called and, after getting *upset* and threatening to leave, was offered the $14.99 lifetime rate. The call took 40 minutes, though, and an irate speech to a supervisor.

Apparently, the offer expired on 9/20. Also, I found out that the Vonage customer service # gets routed to India during the weekends, where a request for the $14.99 rate is more easily granted. Tip ‘o the day!
