I was promised the $200 card. Never received it and can’t get help on it. As soon as my contract is up, I am going back to Dish. Should have never switched in the first place. Dish was always helpful where Direct doesn’t seem to want to be bothered. A lesson well learned.

i just hung up the phone with Direct TV about gift cards I was promised on Dec.7th, 2017. They offered me 2 $200.00 gift cards to sign up that day; even though money was tight. Had to pay $32.00 to sign up that night to get gift cards. Would have gotten Direct TV without the gift cards, just wasn’t ready Dec 7th. Here it is March 7th and still no gift cards. Told me I hadn’t signed up for an account. But I had. Not sure why they lied about it but it WILL cost them if I don’t get my cards. THAT type of business is TOTALLY uncalled for!
Exactly the same with me! I still have the original letter I received in the mail addressed to me. I’ve kept a copy of all the Chat conversations too but they don’t care. So frustrating and disappointing. I won’t quit either. It’s the principle of it now.
You are not alone. I subscribed to Directv at the end of August 2016. Was promised a $200 reward card. I called a month later and they said it would take at least 6 weeks to process. I’ve chatted online with them and called over 11 times! Today the Rewards Dept said it’s impossible for them to issue one for me because it’s expired!! How convenient for them. I’ve been on hold for literally HOURS waiting to talk to a customer service person who can help and I’m either transferred or told “unfortunately” I can’t do anything about it. Shame on AT&T and Directv. If this is the best way they have to make money and treat customers, then as soon as my contract expires I’m gone! I’ve been an AT&T customer for over 25 year. I was wondering if there’s a class action lawsuit for this. If so, I’ll sign up.

I am experiencing the same thing right now. I have the Directv Customer Service department. I am being told that this promotional offer was never entered onto my original activating of the service contract. Basically I am being told that I am lying about this offer being made to me back in October 2016. I kept the original promotional letter with the original offer and the name of the person I worked with via the phone. Now as I type this comment, I am still getting the run around and tons of excuses. I do not give up easily and I am going to keep right on pursuing this matter. OMG

The truth is not that you get the card 7-10 days after activation/installation of your new Direct TV account, but you are really going to get a FORM to apply to receive delivery of the $200 reward card 90 da. later….misleading speech from Direct TV client specialist who signed you up on phone for your account. The Visa reward supposed to be reward for switching, but it comes after 90 days not 7-10 days
We were supposed to get a $200 gift card too. Have asked about it and have been told the form is in the mail. It never arrives. We’ve been a customer for several months now.
Also our bill has been wrong ever since we switched from AT&T Uverse to DirectTV. We’re overcharged every month. We call and call and we get passed around to different people…put on hold for long periods of time…and never get our bill totally corrected.
We may stay with them for another 9 months…that will make it 1 year of the 2 year contract. In the meantime getting set up for antenna or something else.
Then we’ll opt out of the contract and just pay the balance due for the early cancellation fee. So tired of trying to get our gift card and trying to get our billing corrected…and so on. It’s exhausting to say the least.
Note: One customer service rep. from Mexico City did fix everything on our bill for last month…this month it’s wrong again.
DirecTV doesn’t work for us. It’s just not worth the headache. We give up!
I switched from cable to direct tv in August and was told I would receive a $200.00 AT&T Visa Reward card I call in September and was told it would take About 12 weeks. I call again in November and was told I need to go on DirectTV.com/redeem and put in my information. never told this before. So here I am and there is no where to but my information in. This is fraud and I will report it to the BBB and everyone I talk to and will not resign after my 24 months are up.
I also think direct TV sucks! Anytime it rains, you have a signal loss. Ready to go back to optimum

It is now May 1214 weeks later nothing yet. called Direct March 1st. said will receive it by the end of the month. Its on its way. Called again April13. Person said we are submitting information now to manager. Called on April 16th. said it is now being put in for processing will be up to 8 weeks. What a joke…….Got on line and checked my status May 11th. Says it was mailed on May 6th. to be delivered in 10 days. I am giving it 4 more days. This is nothing but fraud and hoping most people will forget about it. Well this has happened many times in the past from numerous company’s. Was promised $100 card for sighning on to Verizon around the same time as directv. Still fighting with that one also. Normaly we forget about it. But not anymore. Tired of being lied to.
