San Andreas Regional Center (SARC) agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims surrounding a 2021 data breach.
According to plaintiffs in a data breach class action lawsuit, San Andreas Regional Center failed to protect consumer data through reasonable cybersecurity measures. As a result of the center’s negligence, the class action contends that consumers now face the risk of fraud and other data misuse.
The San Andreas Regional Center is a medical system with locations in Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey. The center offers specialized services to disabled individuals.
San Andreas Regional Center hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve these allegations.
