There are two methods in which you can drain a gift card into your account. The first one is a common method where you can drain the amount on the gift card into your account associated with the gift card. For example, you can get an Amazon gift card and load all the money on the gift card onto your account. The second method is having a primary card that you use. A prime example of this is Starbucks. If you’re familiar with Starbucks and their reward program, you receive a card that you use as your main method of payment that is directly linked to your Starbucks reward account. So you’d unload the gift card onto another card. This is convenient for those who frequently shop at the same merchant.
