Midwest Division MMC, the company that operates Menorah Medical Center, agreed to pay $1.8 million to resolve an employment lawsuit claiming it underpaid nurses.
According to nurses in the wage-and-hour class action lawsuit, Menorah Medical Center deducted 30-minute meal periods from their work despite the fact they did not take these breaks and they adjusted clock-in and clock-out times. These practices allegedly caused nurses to work off the clock, resulting in underpayment.
Menorah Medical Center is a medical system in Overland Park, Kansas.
Menorah Medical Center hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $1.8 million class action settlement to resolve these allegations.
