Shutters on the Beach was decorated by Michael S. Smith, the same person who designed the Obama White House. The style propounds a chic ocean cottage vibe with shuttered doors, balconies, and chaise lounges along the pool deck. As you enter the lobby, there are twin fireplaces, a grand piano, polished wooden floors, plush chairs, and elegant rugs. Additionally, the artwork throughout the hotel are made by contemporary artists, such as Roy Lichtenstein and David Hockney.
Rooms
There are a total of 185 rooms and 12 suites designed with a laidback luxury aesthetic. The Deluxe Room is 450-square-feet and features a hand-woven Tibetan rug, John Robshaw textiles, a personal library, and a very comfortable bed. Inside the bathroom, there is a hydrothermal massage tub with a separate shower and Main+Goetz toiletries.
Facilities
The guest have direct access to the Santa Monica beach, full use of the fitness room, an outdoor pool deck, a business center, and bicycle rentals. For an additional fee, ONE Spa services, private yoga classes, and surfing lessons are available for purchase.

One Pico is directed by Chef David Almany with the offer of weekend brunch, lunch, and dinner in a cozy, fine dining atmosphere. Their seasonal menu features fresh market fare, like grilled octopus, Maine lobster, heirloom tomato gazpacho, and carrots with harissa.
The Living Room serves afternoon tea, cocktails, and wines by the glass in a cozy setting. The room features two fireplaces, comfortable couches, an amazing art collection, and live entertainment almost every night. The Shutters resort is right off the Santa Monica beach with a mesmerizing view of the Pacific Ocean. Nearby, there are various dining and shopping options within walking distance. Further south, there is Santa Monica’s Main Street and Venice Beach.
