Gamers that purchased a Sony PlayStation 3 (FAT PS3) between November 1, 2006 to April 1, 2010 are eligible for a potential award from the Sony PlayStation 3 ‘Other OS’ Class Action Lawsuit. According to the lawsuit, there were 10 million Fat PlayStation 3 owners during the 2010 firmware update that were ultimately removed support for the Linux OS. The product was advertised to provide owners the ability to install the Linux OS but when Sony pushed out the 2010 firmware update, it disabled the functionality of the product to many users.
