I wrote previously this may be a possibility with the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Business Premier Card, however it takes some careful planning.
Earn 60,000 points after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from your account opening. Plus, earn an additional 60,000 points after you spend $15,000 on purchases in the first 9 months. Offer Ends 9/4/2023.
Southwest Companion Pass for 2024 + 2025 with 1 Card
- Wait until the last day on September 4th to apply. If you get approved, even better to call back for reconsideration. This would even push back the date even more.
- Wait until next statement, then within your account, change your statement due date to October 1st. This can be easily done in your Chase account. Pretty much, your statement will be the first of each month.
- Spend up to $2900 up until November 30th.
- Your statement will hit December 1st, so now on December 2nd or 3rd, you must spend at least another $100 to get to the $3,000 mark to be within the 90 days mark. The first 60K points will hit the next statement, which will be in January 1st 2024.
- Starting 2024, spend the next $12K as fast as you can. Once you hit $12K more, you will get another 60K points.
Math: 60K(1st SUB) + 60K(2nd SUB) + 15K spending + 10K booster = 145K which is more than enough for CP to kick in for 2024 + 2025.
Bottom Line
In theory, this should work if you plan it correctly like above. If this work, it would be the best CP with just one card. If not, you may be interested in the 3 cards method for 2 Companion Passes which can be another good option for 2 people.
