If you really want to save money, here’s my latest hustle.

  1. Go ahead and sign up with a new family plan on the citigroup website. Say the 700 minutes $70 plan for 2 lines, free 7pm, free second line.
  2. You will have 30 days to do all of this below since canceling will not cost you anything. First, switch it to the 550 minutes $60 family plan not listed on the website through Retention. Simply call *2, then 5, then 6 for Retention. They can give you this deal which is not listed on the website.
  3. The next day, again Retention, and sweet talk into them giving you the $20 recurring credit each month for 24 months. Start with like, “I’m not sure I want to keep this plan. I can’t afford this. I’m thinking of canceling this plan, etc.” They don’t give you the first time, call back and talk to a new Retention CSR.
  4. The next day, again Retention, and tell them you want the $1 for 500 texts per phone and the $2.50 data pack per phone. Yes, they do have since I did this a few days ago. They don’t give it free anymore, so this is the cheapest you can get.  While you talking to them, confirm to see your 27% corporate discount is on there too.
  5. You can also call them again about adding bonus 100 minutes on each phone. I have done it, so keep trying.
  6. If you are persistent, this should be your current deal for two lines: $60 + $7(data and texts) -  $18(27% discount) – $20 recurring credit = $29 + taxes each month.

*You might be able to get $50 credit by using the SAVE50 code by emailing them later because of new line of activation.

**Get another $25 by dialing #733 to get a referral bonus for you and your friend. You friend must be an existing Sprint customer.

There is no early termination fee and you get your money back pro-rated if you pay it full in advance. Since rates are always changing, you can be sure to find a lower price from all the competitors.

It took me less than 5 minutes to find a lower rate by going through online with Netquote. After filling out online, the offers begin to pour in from at least 10 insurance companies. The major companies include Farmers, Allstate, Progressive, Nationwide, and many more. I put in the year and model of my car, along with the type of coverage I would like, and they will email you the best rates. I didn’t put my real phone number because I didn’t want to be bothered with them calling.

You will get a hard credit inquiry on your first checking with Bank of America. If you don’t get the bonus after 30 days, make sure to write and remind them. Make $480 with Sprint

Do you have a Sprint contract and wish to get out of sprint or haggle for free money on your bills? You can do so because there is a new change to your contract:

Regulatory Charge/Ts&Cs Changes
Effective 1/1/10, the Regulatory Charge will increase to $0.40/line. Visit Sprint Ts&Cs or sprint.com/taxesandfees for details; also effective 1/1/10, the Sprint Terms & Conditions (Ts&Cs) are changing. Please review them carefully at sprint.com or on request.

Since the Regulatory Charge is now an increase of $.40, it’s a major change in their T&Cs. The law  states that you can get out of your contract without paying an early termination fee whenever a company makes a material change.

Currently Retention is giving away $20 recurring credit for two years on your bills when renewing your contract. However, it takes a little “hustling” since they will not outright give it to you.  They will even make all kind of excuses. You must keep stating it’s the law that I can get out of the contract for the increase in regulatory charge.

To get the $20 recurring credit, you must talk to Retention(they called it “Account Services” now) by dialing

As you know, there are many cash back rebate shopping sites. You should definitely take advantage of these sites if you shop online at all. They give you 1% to 30% cash back just by shopping through their portal. For example, my favorite shopping portal is Ebates. You get $5 just for signing up, but you must make at least one purchase. A lot of these sites have $5 or $10 bonus for new members. The strategy here is to sign up all of them, make the one purchase requirement, and get the bonus on top of the cash back.  However, some sites required the minimum $10 to cash out by Paypal or check. Then use your account to refer your wife/husband, kids, family members, friends, etc to get more referral bonuses. You could make hundred of dollars in referral money.
