Asset Acceptance LLC is settling a class action lawsuit alleging it violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) after using an automatic telephone dialing system, or artificial or prerecorded voice, to contact consumers on their cell phones without their consent. If you received a prerecorded call on behalf of Asset Acceptance between 4/17/2009 and 9/4/2014, you may be eligible for a payment of up to $1,500 from the class action settlement. Apparently, Asset Acceptance did not obtain consent from its customers to make these calls, violating the TCPA.
