HyreCar for Drivers
If for any reason you don’t own a car, don’t want to use your own car, or if your car is temporarily out of service, you can rent a vehicle through HyreCar to drive for rideshare companies and food delivery services.
HyreCar driver requirements depend on the platform you are driving for. If you are driving for Lyft or Uber, you must be at least 21 years of age. You must also have a valid, in-state driver’s license for at least a year (Uber requires three years of driving experience), a clean driving record, a valid insurance policy, and a smartphone.
Before you are allowed to rent from HyreCar, you must pass the background check. If you don’t pass, then you will be refunded the fee. This process will only need to be done once.
Rental pricing depends on many factors. This includes whether the vehicle can drive UberSelect or UberXL, year of manufacture, gas mileage, location, and more. The average price ranges from $24 to $40 a day. If you use the car for a longer period of time, you may be able to get a discount. However, you may have to pay an additional $0.25/mile if you drive beyond the mileage restriction (usually 250 miles/day).
