Style
The Inn makes you feel exclusive with the buzzing in at the front gate. After you’re through the gates, you travel along a narrow road through acres of idyllic farmland, lush organic gardens and a tranquil pond with white Adirondack chairs. The spacious property offers a few guest accommodations and horses roaming in the fields.
Rooms
The Inn at Dos Brisas offers four duplex casitas and five haciendas. Originally, the 750-square-foot casitas were the property’s accommodations, being smaller and furnished with king sized beds, kitchenettes, private patios and gas fireplaces. However, the 1,795-square-foot haciendas were a later addition with stone fireplaces, overstuffed leather furniture, separate living rooms, private heated plunge pools and butler service.
The hacienda gives off the feeling of a private ranch house, with high cathedral ceilings, a massive, screened-in porch, rustic-chic furniture, French Oak floors and a bed-swing. The 4 ft high bed was furnished with organic bamboo Frette linens and Decker pillows. The outdoor shower and the Jacuzzi in the bathroom were great additions.
Facilities
If you are looking to relax, take a stroll through the flower garden, gaze at stars with a telescope, sink in healing massages and attend a cooking class, organic gardening seminar and wine tasting. To be active, you can go clay-target shooting, fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking and played tennis.
You can book duck, deer, quail and hog hunting trips through the concierge. Customers have access to the resort’s infinity pool and your own golf cart to explore the resort. WiFi is included for free throughout the property.
Food & Drink
The award-winning Inn at Dos Brisas Restaurant specializes in farm-to-table cuisine, with herbs and vegetables picked from USDA-certified organic farms to create Texan/french dishes.
Dinner consists of a seasonal, five-course meal with a cape gooseberry gazpacho, southern-fried Texas quail with a garden “potato salad,” high quality wagyu beef with Bordelaise sauce and the Texas peach panna cotta. The wine waiter assisted in the selection from The Inn’s 7,000-bottle collection. Signature garden cocktails were made from the fresh ingredients from The Inn’s farm.
Service
The service offered at The Inn was attentive yet discreet. At this small and luxurious resort, they make check-in quick and easy before a driver takes you to your room which has complimentary cheese, charcuterie and a bottle of champagne awaiting arrival.
After dinner, the server offers some breakfast choices that will be deliver in the morning. After heading back to your room, the fire pit was lit with s’more-making supplies.
Location
This hotel is located about an hour outside of Houston and is on the way to Austin. There are private golf courses nearby if you want to bring your clubs along.
