According to the lawsuit, the New York Department of Correction facilities would perform invasive searches on visitors by more than accidentally or incidentally touch or expose their breasts, buttocks, or genitals. - Estimated Amount: Cash payments of about $4,000
- Those caught with contraband during one of these invasive searches will only receive $500, unless during another visit they were not arrested
- For each payment of $500, another $500 will be re-distributed to those eligible for $4,000 payments
- If more than $12.5 million in claims are made, Class Members may receive less than $4,000
