I previously wrote about the many ways to lower your bills since I know we all got bills. This is just a reminder that you can save a lot of money by doing a “little hustling” with your bills companies. No matter it’s phone bills, cable bills, credit cards bills, internet bills, etc etc…you will save money!
Do me a favor and do the Bills-O-Rama and call all the companies below if you have them:
Lower your credit cards APR rate: call the number behind your credit cards
Verizon $40 lower your bill or more: 1-888-226-0799
Sprint Retention: 866-881-9571 Retentions Direct; no transfers, no hold time
Comcast Retention: 1-800-Comcast *ask for retention
Lower your medical bills: www.mymedicalcontrol.com
Blockbuster: Online cancel to save you monthly fees.
Direct TV: 1-800-824-9081 *Do the cancel then they will offer lower monthly charges.
AT&T? T-Mobile? Time Warner? SBC? Gas? Electric companies? your banks monthly fees? ETC ETC
Simply call them (Ask for Retention Department immediately), tell them you got “a better offer and thinking of switching” or you “heard of a special” or you “have been a loyal customer” but can’t “afford the current price” , etc etc. Believe me, all companies have retention department and they do not want to lose your business. When you talk to them, be cordial and courteous. Leave the threat of leaving as a last resort. Ask to speak to the manager if the normal CSR can’t help you. There is nothing to lose in trying.
If you do call them, please ask the CSR for the phone number to the Retention Department. Come back to Hustlermoneyblog and comment with company name and phone number. You can help us by explain how you save and what they offer. In doing so, we can save a lot of time looking for phone numbers to call and what to say.
**Also, let everyone know if you have done something like this recently.
My phone has been acting a little funky, and it would have cost me $55 an hour at a Sprint store to get it fixed. I just want a new one so I called Sprint and threatened to cancel. The best they could offer me was $100 off of another phone. I then emailed them and said I really am thinking about leaving as that was not a good enough resolution, and they are sending me a brand spanking new phone FREE! I would have never thought to do that if I hadn’t read the blog! Thanks so much.
