How Google Fi Works
Just like their other Google Products, Fi is all about efficiency. The mobile service, when paired with the right phone that can use all its features, will automatically connect to WiFi. If that’s not available, it’ll try to connect with a few mobile data networks.
Other providers have also developed similar intelligent connectivity, but none utilizes more than one 4G LTE network. In partnership with T-Mobile, Sprint and US Cellular, Google Fi will detect and connect to the strongest of the three for the best in reliability and performance.
Google Fi Features
With three networks and millions of WiFi hotspots worldwide, you’ll always stay connected. Check out more Google Fi features below:
From our map below, you can see that Fi has the United States mostly covered. If you’re in an area with little or no 4G LTE signal, you can always connect to WiFi to make calls or send text messages.
No Hidden Charges
When you sign up for Google Fi, everything is upfront and you will never be charged any hidden, activation, or cancellation fees. Also, every charge on your bill is clear and easy to understand.
With Fi, you’ll stay covered in over 170 destinations around the world. The cost of data is the same and you’ll get unlimited texts, no matter where you are. Voice calls that don’t happen on WiFi, however, will cost you $0.20 a minute.
With this feature, you’ll never go over on your data. Bill Protection caps your bill and data, then it’s free for the rest of the month. After you use 15GB in a month, you’ll experience slower data.

Further down, you’ll find an overview of your plan and links to change your settings. Swipe to the right to get the Billing and Support tabs. This is where all your previous statements live and where you would go if you want to get in touch with a representative.
