According to plaintiffs in the data breach class action lawsuit, Steel River Systems failed to properly protect highly confidential information stored on its network. The company’s subpar cybersecurity measures allowed hackers to access sensitive consumers for over a month, the class action lawsuit contends.
Steel River Systems is a nationally licensed collection agency based in Illinois.
Steel River Systems hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $200,000 settlement to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.
