Step-By-Step Procedures:

1. Download the Verizon Messages Application (via iOS or Android) if you haven’t already. If you already have it installed, make sure it is up to date.
2. Once you open the app, hit accept. A pop-up should ask if you should make VZ messages your primary messaging app. Click yes.
3. Once you hit yes, another pop up should follow (black window) advertising that you can buy eGCs through the app now. Hit close.
4. Start a text message conversation with yourself (you may need to send to a different #).
5. Click the grey + sign on the bottom left and click e-Gift (red icon of a giftbox)
6. Once you do that, you should see that it will say “checking eligibility,” then it will display a list of gift cards. Tap on a brand and you will see that some have the “promo” message next to the logo. Select one of these.
7. Start a message and choose a payment method (charge to your VZ bill or use a credit card). Following that, hit purchase. It will then ask you for your zip code to confirm your identity.
8. Finally, it should process the transaction and notify you that the purchase was successful.
