Washington residents who received an unwanted “Invite A Friend” text from Lyft between June 1, 2012 and Nov. 15, 2018, could get up to $132. This is all thanks to the Washington Lyft Texting Class Action Lawsuit.
According to the class action lawsuit, Lyft claimed that plaintiff Kenneth Wright received a text from the rideshare’s “Invite a Friend” program. The text allegedly offered a $25 Lyft credit and urged the plaintiff to download the Lyft app. Wright did never consented to receive this advertisement, and cost him time and money since it was delivered using his phone plan.
