I funded a U.S. Bank Checking Account with an American Express Platinum Card and it went through as a Purchase.
Anthony, The Promo codes in the review and the ..Checking Bonus PDF printout are only one letter different. Are these “2 codes” correct?
It’s now updated. It should be OB86NG1
This offer expired, the link doesn’t work anymore.
I used my Citi Prestige card to fund my account and it went through fine.
Has anyone used a credit card for the opening deposit on their account?
The Capital One Venture card worked and it was labeled as a sale.
My Chase Freedom worked too!
As did my Chase SW!
Funded my account with a barclay aviator card and it was a purchase.
Yes, my Chase United funding posted as a purchase.
When I used my Barclay Arrival card it was fine. It was considered a purchase.
I had no trouble using my Chase Hilton card. They even classified it as a purchase.
Used my Business Platinum AMEX but it was considered a cash advance. Used my Chase British Airways instead.
Yup I used my BoA Alaska Airlines card. I read online that the Virgin Atlantic one works too.
Yeah, I tried to use my Fidelity Amex card but it was considered a cash advance so I ended up using the Cap One Quicksilver instead. It went through as a sale.
I tried using my Everyday AMEX and had the same issue! Ended up using my Citi HHonors Reserve.
Do you need to keep the account open for 6 months? I have already opened the account and receive the bonus. They paid within 10 business days of my initial direct deposit. I have since kept the $1500 balance and ceased dd. Would like to close in September but I don’t want to lose the bonus.
First, contact the bank and talk to a banker to see if there is a closing fee. I usually keep it for 6 months before closing if you can keep the account fee free. That way, it doesn’t look bad.
Called us bank and set up the checking account and funded it via other bank debit card, it was easy and took just a few minutes and I did not even need a promo code!
Seems they do not honor this as easily as Chase.
I just got email
Upon review of your account profile, I see that we do not have record of U.S. Bank having mailed or emailed you a cash bonus offer for opening a new checking account. All offers are customer specific, are non transferable, and are received either by mail or email. If you found an offer online, I apologize these are not valid offers and are not recognized by U.S. Bank. If you did receive a mailing or email offer from U.S. Bank, we ask that you please email us a copy of the offer so that we may research this matter further.
I had US bank bonus before and the account was closed two years ago. Am I still qualified for this bonus this years?
May
wish i could help as I have the same question. I read the bonus terms, it said you are not eligible if you received a bonus in 2015 and also stated the following: Offer may not be combined with any other checking account bonus offers, is not valid if you have received a checking account bonus in 2015, or if you have an existing U.S. Bank consumer checking account or Package
it says: “if you have” and existing checking; meaning still open, is the way I read that. If the bonus did not apply to customers who closed their accounts it would say “if you had” and existing account….
I feel like a bonus may be potentially earned here for you and I both
