What is an ABA Routing Number?
A routing number directs funds to the proper bank during a transaction, it’s a way to identify check-processing endpoints. You should be able to see your nine-digit routing number on the lower-left corner of your checks.
You will need your routing number for banking services like:
- ACH payments
- Setting up direct deposit
- Receiving benefits from the government, including tax refunds
- Transferring money between accounts at different banks or investment firms
- Automatic bill payment
- Domestic wire transfers
Certain banks can have multiple routing numbers for geographic reasons, but for some banks and credit unions uses only one routing number. For example, banks like Wells Fargo and Citibank have different routing numbers for different states and for functionality.
How to Find Your Digital Federal Credit Union Routing Number
You can easily locate your routing number routing number byb:
- Visiting the website: Scroll through the bottom of Digital Federal Credit Union’s homepage and you can see the ABA number listed on the right side of the page.
- Looking at your check: The routing number will be printed along with the account and check numbers. You can find it at the bottom-left corner of the check.
- Calling the Information Center: Call 800-328-8797 from 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. every Monday through Friday or 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.

The DCU ACH number for direct deposits and wire transfers is the same as your routing number on your check.
If you are needing to receive a transfer from overseas, you’ll need to provide the sender with a SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) code. SWIFT codes are routing numbers for international transactions between banks. They have eight to eleven digits with letters and numbers, unlike the routing number.
