If you purchased Extended Download Service (EDS) for Norton products or Norton Download Insurance (NDI) between 1/23/2005 and 3/10/2011, you may be eligible to receive a payment of $50 per downloaded service from the Symantec Norton Insurance Class Action Lawsuit. According to this lawsuit, Norton allegedly violated several consumer protection laws after misleading its customers into believing that purchasing EDS or NDI was mandatory in order to continue the basic services, when in reality, customers could continue their services for free or purchase the optional software at a later time. The defendants deny any wrongdoing but have agreed to settle the claims in order to avoid ongoing litigation.
