Six Continents Hotels Inc. is settling a class action lawsuit alleging it violated California law after recording and monitoring telephone calls to its toll-free reservations and customer service lines without notifying the callers. If you live in California and called one or more of Six Continents’ hotels on a toll-free number and spoke to a representative between 3/1/2011 and 7/18/2012, you may be eligible for a payment of up to $100 cash from the Six Continents Hotels Call Recording Class Action Lawsuit. Apparently, the customers provided sensitive personal information during the calls, but they were never informed during the call that the conversation was being recorded. Six Continents has denied the allegations but agreed to settle the lawsuit to avoid further litigation.
