So, I can have the money in the account for 1 month and then withdraw it when by March?
And I’m assuming I can use my name for the company name, and my ssn for the tax id?

I called Capital One and they said this is a completely bogus offer. In fact, the individual I talked to on the phone, from the local branch, says that this particular scam has been going on for months now and they don’t know how to stop it. However, the link is clearly to a Cap One owned site, which is about the most confusing part. In short, I have yet to hear of anyone successfully doing this and I didn’t have any luck doing it myself.

There are thousands and thousands of bankers at Capital One. Most don’t know jack. The bonus is clearly on Capital One site, hence cannot be bogus. Print out the offer and take it to the bank. If they deny it, ask them why it is on their website and show them the link if needed.

I called and the rep said it was a good deal. You have to visit a branch to open an account, even if you do it online. Unless someone has a workaround?

This is a valid offer as I have received the $300 bonus in my Small Business checking account. Just keep a balance of $3,000 within 30 days, make one oline bill payment and you meet the requirements. I only made a $5 online bill payment to my light bill to fullfill the demands. Hope this information helps!

They took it down. I think it’s too late now. I don’t have the coupon.

Does anyone have experience opening business accounts such as this without an actual “business.” Will Capital One let you open with your SSN as a Sole Prop. and use it as a “de facto” personal account. What type of documentation/questions do they require when opening an account? I have successfully set up Intuit before to run push ACH for direct deposit, but never actually opened a business account. Thanks.

It depends on the branch and CSR i think. I’ve done it whereas it’s a requirement to get a DBA from the State.

I think its only valid in these states: Connecticut, Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, Texas

It says business checking account, so can a salaried person who does not own any business open this account and avail this offer ?
