The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card offers you flexible Chase Ultimate Rewards points that can be used for travel via the Ultimate Rewards portal at a fixed value. Alternatively, you have the option to transfer them to a number of airline and hotel loyalty programs.
The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card offers 100,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. That's $1,250 when you redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards.
You'll earn 2X points on dining including eligible delivery services, takeout and dining out and travel. Plus, earn 1X point per dollar spent on all other purchases.. And when you redeem your points for travel through Chase Ultimate Rewards, you'll get 25% more value!
You get unlimited deliveries with a $0 delivery fee & reduced service fees on orders over $12 for a minimum of one year on qualifying food purchases with DashPass, DoorDash's subscription service. Activate by 12/31/21.
This card carries a $95 annual fee.
The Chase Sapphire Reserve® is similar to the Sapphire Preferred card but is more suited for bigger spenders and frequent travelers. This card comes with a large annual fee, however, it also comes with better earning potential and more VIP perks, including $300 in travel credit every year and membership to Priority Pass Select.
The Chase Sapphire Reserve offers 60,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. That's $900 toward travel when you redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards®. Through December 31, 2021, gas station & grocery store purchases will also count towards earning your Travel Credit.
You'll earn 3X points on travel immediately after earning your $300 travel credit. 3X points on dining at restaurants & 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases. When redeeming your points for travel through Chase Ultimate Rewards, you'll get 50% more value.
This card does carry a $550 annual fee and there are no foreign transaction fees. However, you're able to earn a $300 Annual Travel Credit as reimbursement for travel purchases charged to your card each account anniversary year & up to $100 application fee credit for Global Entry or TSA Pre?®.
Southwest Airlines is great for traveling families since each person gets two free checked bags on all Southwest flights and there are no fees for flight changes. With the Rapid Rewards program, you book any available seat on the plane with your points.
If your family travels with a lot of baggage then it would make sense to opt for a cobranded Southwest card. The Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card is a low-cost card that’s better suited for infrequent Southwest flyers. The American Express® Gold Card is good option for families who spend a lot on dining and groceries. This card earns 4x points at U.S. supermarkets and restaurants worldwide.
Membership Rewards points are very flexible, giving your family plenty of travel options without having to commit to an airline or hotel program. These points are transferable to other programs, so they have high value potential. Amex Gold also comes with a $100 annual credit for airline incidentals, which helps offset the card’s annual fee.
The American Express® Gold Card offers 60,000 Membership Rewards® points after you spend $4,000 on eligible purchases with your new Card within the first 6 months. Terms apply.
You'll have the opportunity to earn:
