- Make sure you bring your Military ID with you!
- Open your account online.
- Keep in mind you’ll need to open a savings account to establish yourself as a member before you can open a new checking account.
- Set up your direct deposit or allotment to automatically deposit at least $500 a month into your new BreakFree checking account.
- After your first direct deposit has posted to your account, you’ll receive your $50 bonus within 90 days.
- Earn a competitive annual percentage yield on balances up to $4,000.
- All balances earn the base annual percentage yield.

If a new membership is created, a $5 fee will apply to establish your membership with Harborstone. Direct deposit or allotment of at least $500 a month must post to your BreakFree checking account by June 18, 2021 to qualify. Show a Harborstone team member your military ID (or enter it in the online application form) and we’ll sign you up to receive your bonus. Limit one bonus per member. - schedule an in-branch appointment or give us a call at (253) 584-2260 or 1-800-523-3641
- For existing members, log in to your online banking account, select the “Forms & Services” tab and then select “Open Additional Accounts”. From the mobile app, select “More” and then “Open Additional Accounts”.
- Qualify for BreakFree Rewards by April 30
- Sign in to online banking at least once a month. Be sure to register for online banking as a primary BreakFree Checking account holder.
- Set up at least one direct deposit or automatic ACH withdrawal per month.
- Make a minimum of 12 debit card/point-of-sale transactions of $3 or more each month. These must post to and clear your account by the last business day of each month.
