Online terms no longer mention Utah. Tempted to try but don’t want to get locked into 6 months at Key without a bonus.
“Sorry, we are unable to open the account you requested online at this time.”
Got this message when applying online. Really don’t want to open a checking account in the branch.
I went to a Key Bank Branch & switched my disability monthly deposit to them to qualify for a $200 promotion because I was disappointed with my current bank. Boy do I regret this now! Leaving hours later & being assured by the bank associate (after my questioning that he had never mentioned that it WAS done) the bonus was installed on my account. When I went thru the large amount of paperwork several times I called their service department. I was told my account was never coded so it was not on. She contacted him by phone right then and MANY hours later he told her that he was “just taking care of it” because he had been so busy. During my lengthy stay why wasn’t it done at this time? He called me and said he took care of it. I have no proof of anything regarding this. This was on Friday. I received a call from him on Monday introducing himself & saying “I think Key Bank opened an account with you last week sometime. We need you to bring your I.D. into us for verification. I told him that he had seen ALL of my I.D., even already signing into Social Security for my deposits. He said they still needed to do this????? I am 65 years old… He said it was random selection for New York Security or something!!! He seemed to be role playing for something else that was needed… What is he going to see different that he had not seen 3 days earlier. As far as I know he had copied my I.D. Now I will have to pay $25 to close this crazy CROOKED bank account. I fill VIOLATED! Please think twice before opening an account with KEY BANK. I have NEVER experienced such JUVENILE BANKING!!! I have even worked in 2 banks before and it was a job to be proud of back then! We NEVER would have treated a customer with such disregard! I hope this at least helps one person to think twice. I called the bank that I was planning to leave and they were SWEETHEARTS and have helped with advice in how to switch my social security deposit back as it will take another month to do this!!! NEVER AGAIN!
I had a VERY similar experience with them last year. So much silliness that I felt like I was on a hidden camera being pranked. I had to walk out in disbelief after being in the branch with a CSR for almost 2 hours…Holy Crap!!!

Did PayPal work for anyone doing key bank? And what is PayPal1 stand for
“Editor’s Note: If you receive “This offer has ended” message that means your zip code isn’t eligible.”
Not so fast, Editor. It went to the “offer ended” page all right, but it hadn’t asked for my zip code. I was just going to go with the $200 offer, but it bugged me that it had done that without knowing my zip. Scrolled down on the $200 offer page & saw a $300 offer link there as a “cross-sell”. Clicked & bingo!

FYI Capital One 360 ACH push counts as Direct Deposit. It worked for me!
Can anyone confirm that this still works?
