Lake Geneva is the perfect place to visit, especially with warm temperatures during the day and mild evenings in July. Small towns, such as Montreux and Vevey, surround the perimeter of the lake.
From late June through mid-July, Montreux hosts its annual Jazz Festival, showcasing music of all genres. There is a bronze statue of Freddie Mercury, who composed and recorded his last album in Montreux.
Located in the heart of the Lavaux wine region, Vevey is where grapes have been planted since the Roman Empire. You are able to take a stroll in the hilly, terraced vineyards and taste some of the wines made in the area. Also enjoy the Fete des Vignerons (Winegrowers’ Festival) where they celebrate Swiss wine and culture once every 20 years.

Known for Virginia’s history, Williamsburg, along with Jamestown and Yorktown, is a great place to celebrate Independence Day. Festivities begins with a public reading of the Declaration of Independence and ends with a show of fireworks.
On top of that, there are bike trails that follow the York River and guided horseback tours through the forest, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, fishing and swimming. The Williamsburg Tasting Trail takes you on a tour of the area’s wineries, breweries and distilleries. You can also head to Busch Gardens for rides, a water park and shows with your family.

Trencin is a great lowkey destination and is about two hours by car or train from Slovakia’s capital city of Bratislava, and three hours from Vienna. The Trencin Castle resides here, one of hundreds of medieval castles and chateaux in the Slovakia. Some attractions include quaint villages, historic towns and national parks. The High Tatra Mountains features hiking trails, streams and caves.
The annual Pohoda Festival is held here in July. It’s a music and arts festival where alternative, indie, electronica, world music and punk meet classical; alongside literature, dance, visual, art, film and theater.

The capital of Wyoming, Cheyenne, sits on the southern border of the state. With Western roots shown in the annual Cheyenne Frontier Days, the world’s largest rodeo and western celebration in July. You can find professional bull riding, steer wrestling, roping, carnival, art, and must-see entertainment, like Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts.
Cheyenne is also known for its railroad history. Visit the Cheyenne Depot Museum to learn more about railroad construction and Cheyenne’s Holliday Park for the world’s largest steam locomotive.

St. Olav’s Festival is about a week long at the end of July and into August. This is Norway’s biggest cultural festival that takes place in Nidaros Cathedral, with concerts, talks, markets and more. The Trøndersk Food Festival is held during St. Olav’s Festival with over 90 exhibitors featuring cookery, courses and entertainment.
