If you don’t know how to meet the spending requirement, here are some ideas on meeting the spending requirements.
What Are ThankYou Points Worth?
The value of your points may vary depending on how you use them. We estimate your per-point value to be around $0.017. This average is based on all the different ways you can transfer points to ThankYou partners. Value of transferred points also depend on the booking details – travel time, destination, etc. For 60k ThankYou Points, that’s around $1,020.
You can redeem your points towards travel booked via the Travel Center, statement credits, gift cards or online purchases at Amazon or Best Buy. You can also transfer your points to participating airline loyalty programs.
Bottom Line
Travel abroad with your card and enjoy the many traveling benefits such as no foreign transaction fees. Personally I’ll apply for this card myself, so don’t wait any longer and sign up for the Citi Premier® today! For more posts like this check out our list of credit card bonuses!
*Check out Citi for tons of great bonuses for their Checking/Savings accounts.

Citi ThankYouŽ Premier Card : After approval , it takes around 15 days to deliver d card. Pathetic customer service with no delivery tracking record and odd suggestions. One need to plan 1 month before if you want to book a travel ticket with this card
I agree. Atleast Citi has to generate a virtual card to customers to use for online purchases until customer receives his physical card
what should be the credit score required for getting approval of this card
“The ThankYou Rewards program now lets you transfer ThankYou points to 11 partners to get even more value for your points.” If i transfer miles to Qatar Airways, will i get more vale than 1.25 cents per TY point on Citi TY website.
Yes I applied a few years ago but I got the bonus and closed the account. Will I still get the bonus? Thanks.
I think only American Express has the 1 bonus per lifetime for each Amex card. Never heard of it apply to any other issuers.
Bonus ThankYou Points not available if you have had a Citi ThankYou® Premier card opened or closed in the past 18 months
Hi Hustler Money Blog,
Thank you for all your work assembling these offers! I have a question- do you know if I would be eligible for another sign-up bonus on the Citi TYP if I previously had this card but closed the account? I’ve researched this topic and found lots of information regarding the Citi HHonors and AA cards, but nothing on TYP. Any ideas? Thanks!
Did you ever try applying again? I am in the same boat you are/were in and I’m trying to decide if I should apply.
Thanks!
great website that I follow always…but you should note that the $125.00 fee in the second year is required in order to get the full 50k points, making it a 37500 point card for those who redeem for GC (but 375.00 in Sunoco gas cards is pretty good.) I am still working on the 30k points from the other Citi preferred card that had 20k points now and another 10k after 3 months. I applied for this 2 months ago and will try for this soon.

Here is the sound bite response from their customer service: when they can’t give you a flight to match the time or airline you rather fly on.
“All our availability is based on the airlines’ lowest published fares. If you have any further questions please contact us at 866-428-4078. Thank you and have a great day!”
They use a company called “Spirit Incentive” which is nothing but a lady name Lisa that operates the internet for you, so you can do it yourself from your home computer, Lisa can’t do anymore then you could.
Their web page gives you about 3 choices out of 15-20 available for your departure, then they give you 1 to 2 choice on your return flight. If you need a red-eye flight, good luck it’s like a crap-shoot, if you want to travel delta or american good luck. most likely the cheapest airline on a propeller airplane. YOU HAVE TO SETTLE WITH THE THREE CHOICES THEY GIVE YOU! YOU HAVE NO OTHER Choices!
actually u can change that rule to 4 cards as i have 4…lol
I heard that Citi only allows a max of 3 cards per person? Is that true? I have 2 personal and 1 business card with them. If I apply for another Citi card, will I be automatically declined?
Also, what’s the rule on applying for a same card? Let’s say I already have the Chase Freedom Visa card, but if I apply for another Chase Freedom Visa card (to get the $200 bonus), will they allow it? Will they let me have 2 same cards?
Thanks.
I believe it’s 3 personal cards. You can try and see.
With Chase Freedom, I think you can get the Chase Freedom MasterCard if you already have the Visa.
Great! I have applied for Chase Sapphire Preferred Card by clicking through your link and got approved. My husband is thinking about applying CitiThankYou Premier Card. Thank you for updating the credit card bonus and bank rate information.
Hi,
I really like your website. I have couple questions for you – if I click through your link and apply for the credit card, is it safe? Also, will you get any credit if I do so and get approved? If you don’t, I will just go to the bank’s website and apply for the credit card. Thanks.
Alicia
It’s completely safe and yes, i do get credit. Thank you for supporting HustlerMoneyBlog.
