It’s a SCAM! I opened a Wells Fargo checking account after receiving this offer in the mail. I used my card for more than 10 transactions and waited for over 60 days – no sign of any $100 (and yes, I do qualify for the offer). In fact, Well Fargo made several errors on my account and charged my for services I hadn’t had, which if I hadn’t spotted would have cost me around $50. They did reverse these charges, but only after I had contacted customers services to report them. The $100 however, is still illusive. I have contacted customer services about this bonus and they say that they can’t do anything, that it can only be sorted out at the branch where I opened the account. So, I called the branch and they said I had to go in, as they couldn’t discuss it over the phone. On visiting the branch I was told that it would all be sorted out within the week. Now, more than a week later, still no $100 and the branch keep fobbing me off with excuses. My only conclusion is that this offer is a SCAM to get people through the door. This offer aside, Well Fargo has been the worst bank I have even dealt with, and I bank all over the world. As I mentioned, they made several mistakes “in their favor”, which would have cost a less meticulous person some serious $$, and when I have contacted them they have always been very unprofessional. As an example of this, one time I telephoned them, about the $100 bonus, they put me on hold and left me there until I hung-up, over half-an-hour later. My best advice, if you see the Well Fargo stage coach, gallop in the opposite direction.
