One of the things I learn with car insurance is that you can always cancel your policy at any time. There is no early termination fee and you get your money back pro-rated if you pay it full in advance. Since rates are always changing, you can be sure to find a lower price from all the competitors.

It took me less than 5 minutes to find a lower rate by going through online with Netquote. After filling out online, the offers begin to pour in from at least 10 insurante companies. The major companies include Farmers, Allstate, Progressive, Nationwide, and many more. I put in the year and model of my car, along with the type of coverage I would like, and they will email you the best rates. I didn’t put my real phone number because I didn’t want to be bothered with them calling.

Advanta Kiva 15-Month 0% Balance Transfer

The charitable organization Kiva has a new Kiva credit card to help fund business loans in the developing world. They are offering a 15 month 0% balance transfer offer with no annual fee and cash back on charitable contributions. Balance Transfer fee is capped at $90, but my friend was able to call them and waive it for the first time. The best part is Advanta will match charitable contributions to Kiva up to $200 per month.

If you are not familiar with Kiva, visit the website to learn more about their person-to-person micro lending. It enables individuals to lend money to entrepreneurs in the developing world. It’s semi-charity since you actually get your money back. The borrowers paid a small interest to cover costs of the microfinance institutions processing the loans.

WaMu 4% APY Savings Account and 5% APY CD

Wamu has just increase their online savings account rate to 4% APY as of today. As long as you keep under FDIC insured limit of $100K, there is nothing to worry about. I have at least 3 Citi cards with 0 balance and sitting on my desk. If you have a Citi credit card with 0 balance, make your card useful by signing up to Citi Credit Protector. You can get either $50 or a free DVD player.

They will send you 5 ten dollars coupon to be mailed in each month. Imagine you have 4 cards signed up, hence you could be making $200 in free money.

Make sure to remember to not charge on any of the cards you sign up with. Otherwise, it will cost you money. After the 5th month, call them to cancel. They will offer you $50 more for 5 more months to continue. This could double your rewards.
