Style
As previously mentioned, The Willard is a property steeped with history. This property is has frequently hosted the legendary icons such as Martin Luther King Jr. while he finished his “I Have a Dream” speech, Ulysses S. Grant when he coined the term “lobbyists”, and Senator Henry Clay when he introduced the mint julep outside of Kentucky.
In keeping with the historical theme, the hotel’s décor is old-world ornate, with marble pillars, coffered ceilings, heavy wood furniture, lush plants and plenty of gold trimmings.

The Willard InterContinental in Washington D.C. consists of 335 rooms and suites. Each room and suite is decorated with unique blend of contemporary luxury and historic charm, showcasing prime views of either Pennsylvania Avenue, the White House or downtown.
The 550-square-foot Willard Room features hues of ivory, navy and cool grey with gold accents. The bathroom was furnished with a walk-in marble shower and Agraria bath products.
