What Are Altitude Reserve Visa Card Points Worth?
Like many other rewards cards, your points’ worth depends on how you use them. You can redeem your Altitude points for:
- Flights, hotel stays and car rentals booked via the U.S. Bank Rewards Center ($0.015/point)
- Statement credits for airfare, hotel stays and car rentals ($0.01/point)
To get the full $750 value out of your 50,000 bonus points, redeem them towards travel using the U.S. Bank Rewards Center.
Why You Should Apply for This Card
The $325 annual travel credit automatically applies to your statement for a wide variety of purchases, including:
- Airfare
- Hotel stays
- Car rental companies
- Taxis
- Limousines
- Passenger trains
- Cruise lines
This card benefit effectively lowers the card’s annual fee to just $75.
You’ll also get reimbursed for your TSA Pre? or Global Entry application fee, up to $100 every 4 years. Global Entry includes TSA Pre?, so I definitely recommend going with that.
Enjoy 12 months of access to more than 1,200 airport lounges worldwide via Priority Pass Select. With it, you get 4 free lounge visits for you and 4 individual accompany guest visits each Priority Pass membership year. After that, you’ll have to pay $27 per person, per visit.
Competitors like the Chase Sapphire Reserve and The Platinum Card from American Express don’t have limitations on how many lounge visits you make.
Every year, get 12 complimentary passes for Gogo inflight WiFi. One 24-hour pass has a $19 value. So all 12 passes are worth $228.
Make purchases abroad without worrying about foreign transaction fees with the U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve Visa Infinite Card.
Bottom Line
Although this premium travel credit card does come with a $400 annual fee, if you can use and take advantage of the U.S. Bank Altitude™ Reserve Visa Infinite® Card and all its perks, like the $325 annual travel credit, then this is a good card suited for frequent travelers.
It’s not as great as other premium credit cards, like The Business Platinum Card® from American Express. Choosing one of these cards frequently comes down personal preferences with the benefits this card provides and weighing those against the fee you’re putting up with.
