How To Earn $1,000 Referral Bonuses:

Capital One 360 Refer A FriendFor a limited time, Capital One 360 has increased their referral bonus to $20 per referral(typically $10 each). Simply log in to your Capital One 360 account and visit the Refer A Friend section to refer all your friends and family. You’ll be designated with a unique Capital One 360 referral link to share with your friends via Facebook, Twitter, or email. Send as many referrals as you like, but the bonus payout is only for the first 50 new accounts. Bonuses for 360 Savings are only paid if the account is opened with at least $250.

There is a $20 bonus per referral for all of the other Capital Online 360 online account options. You can also refer your friends and family with a Capital One 360 Savings, Kids Savings, or Teen Accounts.

So far every offer, when you read the fine print, says “This must be the owner (or joint owner)’s FIRST every Capital One account, including Electric Orange. So my ING account is gone, transferred into Cap One which IMHO is inferior, and I can not access any bonuses (even if moving in new money). I’m transferring my monies out although I’ve had ING forever – probably well in excess of 10 years.

I don’t mind not qualifying, but that isn’t in the regular print, nor is it in the nonstop emails they send me with the offers (even though I’m on the opt out list). I haven’t done anything with this bank other than let my money sit at a bad interest rate, so I can’t comment on their customer service, but definitely there are no great retention offers. At least this last round of nonstop offers for which I don’t qualify has given me the push to close the accounts :)
