There are a plethora of business credit cards out there, however the Chase Ink Cash Business Card offers some of the best rewards with $200 cash back signup bonus, no annual fee, and a superb rewards program.

2015 Chase Ink Cash Business Review

Chase Busines Ink Cash 2015Ink Cash® Business Card offers $200 cash back after you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months from account opening – one of the largest cash amounts ever offered for a business credit card. You receive 5% cash back on the first $25,000 spent annually at office supply stores, and on cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services. The card also gives 2% cash rebate on the first $25,000 spent annually on gas and dining expenses, and 1% rebate on all other things. There is a 0% introductory APR for 12 months on purchases and balance transfers and then the ongoing APR of 13.24% (Variable). I personally prefer Ink Cash to the other Ink cards because you get cash back, generous cash rebates, and no annual fee for a business card!

You may not know this, but if you ever sell something on eBay, Craigslist, or do any freelance work, your business is called sole proprietorship. Simply use your name as business ID and Social Security number as tax ID on your application to apply.

Chase Ink Plus Business Card Review

Rewards Program Overview:

If you are a business owner looking to boost your gains, the rewards program offers 5x the points on office supplies, telecommunications such as cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services on the first $50,000 spent annually. Design with business in mind, the Ink Plus Business Card from Chase rewards users for spending money on travel and internet access. There is also 2 bonus points for every $1 spent on gas stations and hotels – limited to $50,000 in spending. Finally, you get 1 bonus point for every $1 spent everywhere else with no limit.

The Chase Ultimate Rewards points can do wonder when transferring Ultimate Rewards points to airline partners or hotel partners. The choice of airline and hotel partners is also much better in comparison to the transfer options of American Express’ Membership Reward Points.

Business Credit Card:

The Chase Ink Plus® Business Card is a business credit card which means you can pay a portion of your credit card bill each month if you wish. Obviously, you should be paying off your statement each month to avoid the interest charges. There will be a credit inquiry , but the credit line will not appear on your personal credit report.

No Foreign Transaction Fees:

For businesses that do a lot of work overseas, Chase Ink Plus offers no foreign transaction fees. You can make any purchases out of the country without paying an extra fee every time you swipe. With the 1:1 point transfer to popular travel programs, businesses will get the most out of their travel expenditures. Other cards will have standard fees are 2%-3% which negate any points accumulation.

How to use 50,000 Ultimate Reward points:

Simply spend $5,000 within the first 3 months of account opening to qualify for the 50,000 bonus points. The 50K Chase Ultimate Rewards points which are very valuable that can be redeemed for gift cards or statement credit($500 value), travel through the Ultimate Rewards Portal($625 value), and transfer to hotel and airline partners.

Many cardholders use their Ultimate Rewards points(1:1 transfer ratio) to convert to other airline and hotel partners such as: United, British Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Korean Air, Hyatt, Marriott, Priority Club, Ritz Carlton, Amtrak, and more. One of the best ways to redeem the 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points is by getting 2 nights in a top category 6 Hyatt hotels such as the Park Hyatt in Paris, Tokyo, or the Maldives. You can do this by transferring the points to Hyatt and redeem for hotel rooms which costs $500 or more per night.

Our Verdict:

My recommendation for the Chase Ink Plus Business Card is 5 Stars for the bonus points alone. You get 50,000 points after spending $5,000 within 3 months that is well worth signing up. For people who can max out the 5X category up to $50K at Office Supply stores and telecommunication services, that’s 250K in Ultimate Rewards points! On top of the reward points, you pay no foreign transaction fee! What’s the bottom line? Apply for the Chase Ink Plus® Business Card today!

Costco News: Replacing Amex with Citi and Visa

by Hu$tler on March 3, 2015

in News

costcoEffective April 1, 2016, Costco will no longer accept Amex cards and will start accepting Citibank Visa. Visa would replace American Express as the credit card network for Costco in the U.S. and Puerto Rico on the same date. More than likely, you will be able to switch your current Amex Costco card to another Amex card with more details coming soon. There are rumors with a coming of a new Citi Costco co-branded Visa credit card. It doesn’t matter because you can pay with any Visa card at Costco. For those living in Canada, Costco has recently switched from AMEX to MasterCard and Capital One.

Costco News Highlights:

  • Starting 4/1/2016, Costco will no longer accept AMEX cards
  • Costco is forming a partnership with Visa and Citi in the U.S and Puerto Rico stores.
  • Since Citi bought out existing co-brand portfolio from American Express, current Amex Costco cardholders most likely to be converted to Citi.

I believe this is good news for members of Costco due to the fact that many people carry a Visa card in their wallets. Unlike Amex cards, most Visa cards have no annual fee. This would be extremely convenient of having a Visa credit card for Costco members.

What is Avios?

Avios is the new shared reward currency for British Airways Executive Club. One Avios is exactly one BA mile. Benefits of Avios to the customers include:

  • Cabin upgrades using Avios
  • A new range of travel reward redemption options, including hotels and car hire for BA Executive Club members
  • More flexibility as customers can now use Avios for one-way flights or to mix and match the airports they fly to and from.

Card Features:

  • You will get 50,000 bonus Avios after you make $2,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening.
  • New: $0 Intro Annual Fee The First Year, Then $95.
  • Every calendar year you make $30,000 in purchases on your British Airways Visa Card, you’ll earn a Travel Together Ticket good for two years.
  • In addition to the bonus Avios, you will also get 2.5 Avios for every $1 spent on British Airways purchases and 1.25 Avios for every $1 spent on all other purchases.
  • Pay no foreign transaction fees when you travel abroad.
  • Smart Chip Technology allows you to use your card for chip based purchases in Europe & beyond, while still giving you the ability to use your card as you do today at home.

You can use the 50K Avios through other one-world flights, including transatlantic Iberia flights, and non-transatlantic AA flights. Want to go to Europe round-trip on less than $400? The Chase British Airways Visa Signature card 50,000 BA Executive Club Avios for new cardmembers with first purchase is good enough for an economy class transatlantic flight from USA to Europe Zone 1. This includes the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Switzerland. Why the $400 cost even though it’s a free flight? Taxes and fees.

Quick Summary:

  • BA Avios cannot be redeemed for transatlantic flights on American Airlines. However, they can be redeemed for other oneworld flights, including transatlantic Iberia flights, and non-transatlantic AA flights.
  • The 2-for-1 voucher is good only for BA mainline flights, not partners.
  • To check on status of your application using an automated line, call 800-945-2006. At the prompt press # then 1, then enter your SSN
  • To check on status with a human, 888-270-2127

The biggest downside of the BA Visa is the $95 annual fee. However, this is fully mitigated by the signup bonus worth $1,000 of travel. The second annoying factor is the heavy taxes and fees when booking transatlantic airline flights comes with a big caveat: you have to pay taxes and fees in addition to forking over when using your Avios. On the plus side, it offers some great features for international travelers such as:

  • EMV chip-and-PIN technology, so you can actually use your card in Europe
  • A free companion ticket that you can use in any cabin, every year that you make $30k in purchases or more
  • Waived foreign transaction fees, key for any self-respecting international credit card

For those big spenders out there, the the BA card’s companion ticket offer(worth $500+ a year) is a great option.  You’ll also earn 25% more rewards than the standard airline card rewards rate of 2.5 Avios per $1 spent on British Airways/1.25 Avios per $1 spent elsewhere. Don’t wait any longer to apply for the British Airways Visa Signature® Card today!
