The fourth Thursday of November every year is Thanksgiving Day, which falls on November 26th this year. Thanksgiving is a federal holiday, meaning financial institutions, schools, and many businesses close to allow their employees to celebrate. Therefore, if you need to go to the bank, you won’t be able to.
ATMs will still be open, but any more complicated transactions can’t be completed. It is best to get any banking needs done before Thanksgiving Day.

Thanksgiving is one of the 10 federal holidays in the year, so numerous organizations, such as schools, government offices, and businesses, close. Customers will still be able to access their online accounts, and there may even be customer service to help. Most banks will be closed, but customer service lines and online banking is available for use. If you would like to know more, it is best to contact your bank directly before visiting on any holiday.
Thankfully, banks will resume their day-to-day operations the day after Thanksgiving, so there is won’t be a long wait to complete your banking needs.
