Style
The Sofitel encompasses their French brands through a combination of Art Deco-inspired architecture with boudoir-inspired, contemporary interiors. Guests are met with a chic lobby, a tufted, emerald sofa, as well as the geometric, black and white rug and the gorgeous orb chandeliers hanging from the coffered ceiling. Overall, the hotel has a look that properly celebrates the capital city’s history and Parisian culture.

Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square consists of 237 rooms and suites. Each room and suite features soundproof walls, contemporary furnishings and sizable windows.

Facilities
Sadly, there is no spa or pool available at Th Sofitel. To make up for that, the hotel does offer a 24-hour fitness center in the basement, as well as a 24-hour business center. Meeting and event spaces are available, including a 1,700-square-foot ballroom, and WiFi is free throughout the property.
Food & Drink
There are two in-house spots to dine at: ICI Urban Bistro and Opaline Bar and Brasserie, which reside across the lobby from each other.
ICI Urban Bistro serves up a contemporary twist on French bistro cuisine. Dishes on the menu include smoked salmon omelette, foie gras and black truffle risotto.
Opaline offers classic French cuisine and cocktails. Menu items include tuna tartare, duck cassoulet and the Spiced Manhattan carafe cocktail. If it’s warm out, opt to sit al fresco on the street-side patio.
Service
The Sofitel staff is able to create a personal service despite the large size of the property. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with polite and accommodating service. The staff members tend to greet guests by their name and quickly carry out requests. Additionally, the bar and restaurant staff offer exceptional service that rounds out the whole experience.
Location
The Sofitel lays in at the center of the city’s main sites, just a mere block from the White House and one block from McPhearson Square. Washington Monument is a 10-minute walk away, the World War II Memorial takes 15 minutes on foot and the Smithsonian Museum is a bit further, about 25 minutes.
