Citi AAdvantage Platinum appears to be keeping with its tradition. For long their offers have been quite rewarding. They also have 30,000 American Airlines bonus miles after $750 expenditure. If I add to the $500 you have in your table, it results in a sizable amount in savings.

The PenFed Amex shows a $2500 minimum spend on their web site. Is it a $650 minimum spend (as your website notes) or a $2500 minimum spend?

Best,
Mike

Clicking on the USbank link it looks like they are doing 17500 points for $2500 spend instead of 15000 points for $500… love the site, keep it up.

Warning: *If you do not meet Citi’s criteria for the (Hilton HHonors) Visa Signature card, your application may be processed for the Gold card. The Gold card does not carry the same level of benefits as the Visa Signature card.

Hey guys,I need a suggestion.I already have Discover it card and Chase Sapphire card.I have spent the mandatory 3k within 3 months on it to get all the benefits.I know I can spend more and get some points.I have to pay fees for one of my courses which is due in May-13.The fees is $2700.I was planning to put in on a new card and reap some benefits in the form of cash back etc.Wondering which card should be best. Also, let me know if I am missing out on any other strategy.Thanks.

Be wary of signing up the Delta Gold Skymiles card from American Express. I had been a previous member more than a year before, was told by an American Express rep hustling the card at a Delta boarding gate at Los Angeles Airport that it was ok to get the 30,000 miles as AMEX welcomed old Delta Gold Skymiles members. It’s not true!!! I signed up, spent the $500 within the required time, then got nothing. AMEX subsequently denied that they welcome old members. Don’t fall for this nonsense! Subsequently, I cancelled the card and stopped flying Delta. As the saying goes, “One hand washes the other!”
